Meet the Teacher!

Robin Selman is the 3's teacher in the Panda Room.  She has been at Covenant for 5 years!  Before coming to CPP, Ms. Selman worked at a Children's/Mom's Morning Out program at First Presbyterian Day School.  Maybe a little-known fact about Ms. Selman is that before working with children, she was in the software/high-tech indstry.

Ms. Selman's favorite food is Spicy Bloody Mary Mix!  She loves reading and cooking.  Ms. Selman doesn't have any pets, but she has admitted that her favorite cartoon character is Ned Flanders!

Ms. Selman's favorite thing about teaching at Covenant is the staff and wonderful community support.  We are very thankful to have Ms. Selman teaching here!

Bible Unit

Ms. Gayla has been telling the story of Daniel and how “God will Help and Protect Me Wherever I am.”   It is such an important reminder for ALL of us as we go through uncertainty, that God really does have a plan. Try to find opportunities to discuss what your son/daughter is learning at home!

Covenant Happenings

Advent Event: Journey to Bethlehem
Join us for Advent Event TONIGHT: Journey to Bethlehem
Covenant Presbyterian Church hosts a great event each year at this time.  You are invited to attend Advent Event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Eaton Hall, where you will be transported from the city of Austin to the streets of Bethlehem.  “Journey to Bethlehem” is an Advent experience designed for children to participate with their parents and grandparents. It’s a chance to spend some quality time together before being plunged into the whirlwind that surrounds the holiday season. Rather than being hustled and bustled from store to store, you can set your own pace and enjoy learning a trade from a shopkeeper and work on projects for as much or as little time as you want. In addition there will be a farmers’ market filled with produce to sample, a stable with a wide range of small animals to pet, and folk music.  Join us as we begin the season of Advent by leaving the modern world behind and prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of a very special baby! For more information, contact Stacey Grooms at sgrooms@covenant.org or 334-3005.

Wednesdays for Children at Covenant
On Wednesday nights from 6-7:30 children four years old through 4th grade are invited to meet with Coach Kelly for a time of very active games with a Biblical message. Midway through the evening the kids are divided into age groups to explore the Bible through story time, crafts, snacks and Bible story videos.
To reserve childcare for children three years and younger during Wednesday night activities, contact childcare@covenant.org.

Children's Choirs
Covenant offers children's choirs for children ages 4 by Sept. 1, 2012, through 6th grade. The choirs rehearse on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. during the school year. In addition to experiencing the joy of music and singing, our choir members learn the importance and the excitement of being actively involved in worship. The children sing special music at worship services, present a Christmas program, and perform in our annual spring musical.
  • Choristers: 4th - 6th grades
  • Carolers: 2nd and 3rd grades
  • Sunshine Singers: 1st grade
  • Praise Makers: Kindergarten
  • Music Makers: Pre-Kindergarten
Questions? Contact Stacy Curtis at scurtis@covenant.org or 334-3033.
