Sweet Home Covenant's Fantastic Success!

Our annual spring fundraiser, Sweet Home Covenant, was a great success this year! We raised over $15,000 to support the operating costs of the preschool and had a great time doing it. Heather and Steve Potts opened the Cedar Door to us and hosted a fantastic evening with great food and drinks. The silent auction was full of fun items and the bidding got pretty intense! It was a fun evening for all of us and a great opportunity to socialize with many of the teachers and other Covenant parents.

This event could not have gone off so smoothly without the hard work of many people. A special thanks to Roxi Tsakas, our fundraising chair, and the rest of the Parent Advisory Team for all of their effort. Our room parents put together some very impressive baskets and many parents provided silent auction items or helped collect from other vendors.  Parents stepped up to help with decorating, ticket selling, and sponsoring. All that combined effort helped us exceed our goal in raising money.

Why is this fundraiser so important? It keeps our tuition costs lower! The proceeds go directly to our operating budget and support teacher and staff expenses, enrichment opportunities for students, supplies, and ongoing improvements to classrooms and facilities.  Every year this is a vital component of the preschool budget. Thank you to all the parents who supported our efforts and helped us make this our most successful fundraiser ever!

Hope for the Weary Mom

Friends,

I want to invite you to an event I am excited to be a part of -- mostly because I AM A WEARY MOM!

Have you ever felt fresh-out of awesomeness? Maybe you are still knee-deep in diapers, potty training, pre-schooling weariness. Or maybe your sleepless nights come from worrying about school choices, balancing homework, when to have 'the talk' and how to manage iPhones and texting! Or maybe your chauffeuring days to and fro are dwindling, but now you have a teen-age driver headed to college soon.

Whatever age or stage you find yourself on this amazing journey of motherhood, this morning of HOPE is just for you.

Please join me on Saturday, April 14 at 9:30 am at Covenant Presbyterian Church for a morning of encouragement led by speakers, authors and fellow weary moms Brooke McGlothlin and Stacey Thacker. Brooke and Stacey recently wrote Hope for the Weary Mom: Where God Meets You in Your Mess (which is trending #1 on Amazon in Parenthood). They will share stories from their own parenting journeys and give hope and encouragement with practical applications for you.

The event is free, open to the public and there is free-childcare (3 mos - 12 years). Registration is recommended and childcare reservations are required. For more information and online registration please go to:

Please join me at this event! I promise you'll walk away feeling a little less weary and more filled with HOPE.

Let me know if you have questions or want more information. Hope to see you on the 14th!

Spread the word - bring friends, share at school, your church. Forward this email. The more the merrier!

Love and HOPE,

Kristin Schell

Director's Message

Dear Parents,

The school year seems to be going by so quickly! March has come and gone and Austin's beautiful spring weather is here! Please remember to check your supply of extra clothes in the classroom and restock with weather appropriate clothing. Also, please make sure your child wears sturdy shoes (no sandals, jellies, crocs, Tom's without socks or any type of boot) each day for playing on the playground.

We had another successful fundraiser last month at the Cedar Door downtown.  How blessed we are that our very own CPP family, Steve and Heather Potts, continue to open the doors to their business and host our annual event!  We had a ball! The Parent Advisory Team, fundraising committee and room parents all played an integral part in pulling off this year's fundraiser!  I am happy to report that we raised over $15,000!!!!

During the last week of April, we will be sending out a link to Survey Monkey where you can complete this year's parent evaluation.  I truly encourage you to take 10 minutes to share your thoughts about your school experience this year.  It is VERY important for us to get this feedback so be on the lookout for it to hit your email boxes around April 30!

I am looking forward to an awesome April and a marvelous May!

God's Blessings,

Christy O. Milam
