Director's Message

Dear Parents,

   

It is so nice to return to routine and see the children’s beautiful faces day after day.  They all come ready to learn and excited about the fun things the teachers plan for them in the classrooms!  It was great to see all of you parents too at this year’s parent conferences.  I really enjoyed reading through the children’s portfolios and seeing their creations!  I am reminded again of how blessed we are with the most gifted teachers in Austin.

January has flown by and February is an extra busy month in the Preschool office as we begin registration for the 2012-2013 school year.  All forms for current students must be submitted by Feb. 10.  After we have all current enrollees’ forms back, we are able to fill any remaining spots from our waiting list.  If you have a younger child who is not already on the waiting list, please pick up an application in the office or download from the website at www.covenant.org.

Also, plan to play and socialize with the adults from CPP in February – our amazing Parent Advisory Team is planning for a spectacular spring fundraiser, “Sweet Home Covenant,” on Saturday, February 25^th.  This is a fantastic event that you do not want to miss and is THE primary way we raise funds for our school.  Thanks to the wonderful Potts family for offering to host the party again this year at the Cedar Door!  We are SO blessed! 

Lastly, this is the time of year when children, parents, and teachers start getting sick more often.  We will make sure that we continue to practice good hand washing habits at school.  Please encourage your family to practice good hand washing habits at home.  We appreciate your keeping your sick children at home so we can maintain a healthy environment for everyone.  Remember, your child must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.  Also, please keep your child home if there has been any vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours.
